Volunteering at Silver Blades
Silver Blades is a volunteer-run club with over 500 members, and your involvement is critical to our success! As with previous years, we are offering many opportunities to add volunteer hours to your account. This season, the volunteer commitment for each family registering a Preliminary, Junior, Intermediate or Senior skater is 10 volunteer hours over the course of the season or a fee of $200 (to be processed on May 15 if you don’t fulfill your family’s 10-hour volunteer commitment).
With limited scheduled club activities due to COVID, the volunteer requirement has been re-assessed to reflect the unique needs of the up-coming season. Our immediate need is for:
- Entry Booth Attendant: to sign-in skaters upon entering the arena for their scheduled session, to verify that the Health Screening Questionnaire was completed, and to manage the flow into and out of the rink. You will be situated in the booth by the front entrance behind the glass wearing a mask. Click here to view detailed instructions.
- Traffic Control Attendant: to monitor the flow of skaters and parent/guardians as they enter and exit the arena, to help keep the lobby and change room hallway clear, and to assist the attendant in the booth. Click here to view detailed instructions.
Please click here to sign-up for a time slot. You will be credited for volunteer hours towards your account and you'll be playing an important role to help keep our COVID protocols in place.
Volunteers will be required to complete the Skate Ontario Acknowledgement, Release, Indemnity and Assumption of Risk regarding COVID-19 form upon arrival but it will only need to be completed once for the season.
